The 36th Grand Lodge Convention of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will convene on September 19, 2004 at the Cincinnati Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Grand Lodge Convention delegates, elected every four years from IAM local lodges throughout North America, set the policies and procedures for the IAM to follow. In compliance with the IAM Constitution, each local lodge in good standing and free from delinquency is entitled to be represented.

“Official Circular 818, the Official Call, has been issued. It outlines the formula for determining local union representation and the procedures for nominating and electing convention delegates,” explained IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Warren L. Mart.

“It’s a much different world in 2004 than when we gathered just four years ago in San Francisco,” said International President Tom Buffenbarger. “We face many new challenges, but we will ensure that this great union survives and prospers.”
